Update on National Open, Etc.

The previous post contained the USCF Crosstable. The biggest highlight was Brock Romero who went 5-0 to start in the U1800 section. Unfortunately, he was not able to score a point in his final match and finished 5-1 (Tied for 4th). Congratulations Brock!

I was able to battle GM Mikheil Kekelidze until my resignation on move 72. Unfortunately, I missed the final idea to draw around move 60. Three of my games were covered on monroi (visible also through vegaschessfestival.com). I went 2.5/6 versus a GM, IM (0/2), 2 experts (2 draws), and 2 class players (1.5/2); a fair result I think.

I look forward to seeing everyone at the State Quick Chess Championship on the first Saturday of July!

Also, stayed tuned for VERY BIG news coming in the next few days about a major event in Albuquerque.
